Satellite television access to CBC/Radio-Canada: It’s time to get it right says CBC
All satellite TV subscribers across the country should have access to their local CBC or Radio-Canada signal. Unfortunately, that’s not the case today. It’s a problem that CBC/Radio-Canada is asking the CRTC to resolve once and for all in the context of a major policy review now underway. Satellite television subscribers account for one-third of viewers across Canada. Yet despite the deep penetration of satellite TV, current CRTC policy does not oblige satellite service providers to guarantee Canadians access to their local stations.

66% of iseemedia Shares Tendered to Synchronica Take-Over Bid
iseemedia Inc. TSX-V: IEE) and Synchronica plc (AIM: SYNC) have unveilded that 66% of the iseemedia shares have been tendered to Synchronica’s take-over bid for all the issued shares of iseemedia (the "Offer"). Synchronica has extended the Offer until 5:00 p.m. (Toronto time) on September 14, 2010 and has committed to take up and pay for all iseemedia shares tendered by that date. Synchronica has also waived the principal conditions to the Offer except for the minimum tender condition that at least 51% of the issued iseemedia shares are tendered to the Offer by September 14.

Email, Social Networking Channels and Mobile Devices Main Culprits for Corporate Data Loss
In its seventh annual study of outbound email and data loss prevention issues, Proofpoint Inc. found that email continues to be the number one source of data loss risks in large enterprises as more than a third (35 percent) investigated a leak of confidential or proprietary information via email in the past 12 months. At the same time, the number of data loss events associated with social media channels continued to increase.

Comprehensive census shows ABC, FOX and NBC account for majority of Hulu Plus full-episode additions
A just-completed analysis of television content made available from Hulu’s new monthly subscription service, Hulu Plus, shows the $9.99-per-month online video service is offering 3,564 full-length TV show episodes that are not available from the free Hulu.com platform. Two-thirds of the added episodes are drawn from prime time schedules of the broadcast TV networks associated with Hulu’s owners Walt Disney Co. (ABC), NBC Universal (NBC) and News Corp. (FOX).
