SANYO Canada Inc. released its two-sided version of the ’eneloop kairo’ after the previously released one-sided, egg-shaped version sold-out promptly after its Canadian debut. The two-sided SANYO ’eneloop kairo’ (KIR-SL2SS/P) is not only a rechargeable hand warmer, but is a battery charger as well. Rectangular-shaped, the aluminum body heats on both sides.

The SANYO ’eneloop kairo’ is smaller than a deck of cards with its 86 x 51 x 19 mm body while remaining lightweight at 200 grams / 7 ounces. The two-sided ’eneloop kairo’ is available in silver and hot pink and includes two AA-size eneloop precharged, rechargeable batteries (which can be used in the warmer or in other devices). The aluminum body produces heat on both sides. The unit delivers a comfortable level of heat ranging from 38 degrees C (102 degrees F) in the low setting to 46 degrees C (115 degrees F) in the high setting. The unit charges completely in 4.5 hours and provides 1-3 hours of warmth depending on the setting.

The SANYO ’eneloop kairo’ also features a micro-computer for extra control and safety and a worldwide voltage (100-240 v) fold-away plug AC adaptor. Available at Canadian retailers including Henry’s, SIG Electronics, NCIX.com and Dell.ca, its MSRP is $69.99.

SANYO’s ’eneloop universe’ is a series of green products based on the popular SANYO eneloop rechargeable battery. The products in the ’eneloop universe’ promote a lifestyle of reusing and recycling contrary to the common ’use and throw away’ behaviour. The ’eneloop kairo’ is the first of several other ’eneloop universe’ products coming to the Canadian market, including the ’eneloop electric bike,’ scheduled to be launched later this year.
